About Highpoint Community Services Association (HCSA.org.sg)
HCSA Academy, the latest programme by HCSA Community Services, aims to train any passionate individuals to be a F&B workplace ready professional. HCSA Academy is an Approved Training Organization (ATO) by Skills Future Singapore (SSG) to offer SSG-funded courses, Food Safety Course Level 1 and WSQ Higher Certificate in Food Services (Culinary Arts). We also provide leisure cooking programs such as one-pot dish cooking course and Swift Savories.
The Academy is equipped with a modern commercial kitchen and an attached 60-seater dining space located a stone throw away from Aljunied MRT station. It offers a ground for any trainee to be trained by experienced Chef-Instructors who have vast experiences leading the F&B chain.
About the Trainer: ANDREW NG
Chef Andrew Ng comes with a rich experience in both Western and Asian cuisines. A mid-career changer from theatre, he started his culinary journey as an apprentice at Iggy’s (The #1 restaurant in Asia then) and grew quickly with organisations such as, Prive Group (Outlet Chef) and Wildfire burgers (Group head Chef). His varied expertise includes consultancy, Japanese food, keto diets and entrepreneurship. His wife Ellen and he live with two cats named ‘Ballerina’ and ‘Kum Quat’.
When he’s not cooking, he likes to café-hop and has keen interests in food photography and keto-diets. “Having benefitted from the tutelage of experienced chefs, I believe strongly in enabling aspiring chefs to achieve their potential in the trade”
